Viva Technology 2024: A review of Europe's largest technology and start-up event

All about technology

An eventful week lies behind the de:hub delegation. VivaTechnology not only offered the opportunity to generate valuable contacts and discover innovations, but also a variety of panel discussions, startup pitches, matchmaking and side events. With a clear focus on artificial intelligence and an impressive international participation, the event set new standards and impressively demonstrated how important collaboration for innovation is in the future. Other focal points of the fair were the impact of technology on education and careers, the future of work, and the role of younger generations in global challenges. The creative industries were also explored in depth, particularly the further development of content, games, virtual reality and music.

French-German cooperation: a model for success

The Digital Hub Initiative presented itself at the French-German joint pavilion. The pavilion brought together academic partners from France and Germany, as well as German startups and support initiatives. This platform enabled German startups and individual organizations to present their innovative solutions and make valuable contacts. The pavilion program with the French-German Tech Battle and the French-German Tech Meet-up was also dedicated to French-German cooperation. In the first round of the Tech Battle, the German startup Mitigant competed against the French startup Wilkins Avenue AR. In the second round, ZAUBAR from Germany and dpo_consulting from France delivered their pitches. ZAUBAR and Wilkins Avenue AR impressed the jury members and won a consultancy voucher from Mazars.

Each startup from the Digital Hub Initiative had the chance to compete in an exciting pitch session on the stage of the French-German joint stand. The first day was all about HealthTech innovations, which gave the Digital Hub Initiative HealthTech startups a special stage to present their pioneering solutions to the audience.

Another highlight was the German Startup Night with 300 participants - a side event organized together with Berlin Partner. This event offered German startups the opportunity to network with an international audience and meet potential investors.

MediaTech Hub Potsdam

A particular highlight was the participation of the MediaTech Hub Potsdam, which was represented by Volucap, AssetAide, Trueffles, Sensit!, ravespace.io, yoona.ai, ZAUBAR, JYMMiN, XR Bootcamp and Mitigant. These startups presented exciting developments in the field of MediaTech, a sector that combines pioneering solutions in media and technology. The focus was on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, internet and democracy, creative industries and games. These topics impressively demonstrate how media and technology work together to shape our future.

The startup ZAUBAR, for example, offers an AI-supported platform that enables brands, agencies and cultural institutions to easily create, distribute and monetize AR experiences anywhere in the world. Companies and initiatives from various industries use ZAUBAR's technology, e.g. to create interactive AR experiences for their business premises or to create cultural AR worlds in museums.
